We are thrilled to announce our presenter, 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗲, 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆. Chris comes to us fresh off of winning the Excellence in Cartography Award at the ESRI UC 2025 Map Gallery for the Geospatial Conservation at The Nature Conservancy: 2024 Annual Report and Map Book.

The Charles E. McNoldy Memorial College Student Award is a one-time $1,000 Scholarship to a Virginia college student studying GIS or a geospatial related field.

This award is in honor of Mr. Charles Edward McNoldy and will be awarded to a student in a Virginia university or college majoring in Geographic Information Systems, a geospatial related field, or other majors with a career or program area focus on Geographic Information Systems. 

To apply for this scholarship the student needs to provide an official academic transcript along with a 500-word minimum essay detailing why said student should be the recipient of this scholarship, what the student is working on in school and their long-term goals for the future.

VAMLIS is proud to have sponsored the Southwest Virginia GIS Users Group Meeting in June. The meeting had over 50 participants including some virtual attendees. There were several speakers and lunch was served. Congrats on a great event!
