The Virginia Association for Mapping and Land Information Systems is a professional association in Virginia designed to provide educational and networking opportunities for professionals who have an interest in the mapping sciences in Virginia.

Formed in 1989, VAMLIS founding members recognized a need to bring together individuals and organizations that are involved and concerned with the mapping sciences. Promoting the free exchange of knowledge and information, VAMLIS offers its members access to a variety of educational and networking opportunities. Striving to be the voice of the mapping sciences industry, VAMLIS encourages a high standard of professionalism among its members and promotes educational, instructional, communication and legislative programs to further advance the profession.
